Screens look better when the room sounds right
A café lobby, a salon waiting area, a gym floor, and a hotel entrance all want a different feel, and music is the cheapest way to set it. Until now that usually meant a separate speaker, a separate playlist app, and someone remembering to press play. With background music in DisplayNyx, the same screen that shows your menu or promo loops the track you choose, and you manage it from the same dashboard as everything else.
How it works
Open a screen's Home tab and you'll find a Background music card. Upload an audio track (MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, or AAC) into your workspace's track library, then pick it for any location the screen is paired to. The player loops it continuously while the screen is running.

A different sound at every location
Music is set per location, not per workspace. A screen can be paired to several stores, and each pairing keeps its own track, volume, and speed. The flagship store can run something upbeat while the quiet branch across town plays nothing at all. And because the setting belongs to that screen at that location, a second screen at the same site can loop something different again.

It gets out of the way of your videos
Background music never talks over your content. When a video with its sound turned on starts playing, the music pauses for the length of that video and picks back up right after. A muted video never interrupts it. So a silent looping promo can play over your music all day, while a video that actually has something to say gets the room to itself.
New locations start quiet, on purpose
When you pair a screen to another location later, it doesn't automatically inherit music, or the media the screen is already showing elsewhere. The new location starts empty and you choose what it plays, so a new branch never blasts a track or a promo that was meant for a different one.
Who can change it
People who can manage a screen can upload tracks, assign them, and tune volume and speed. Everyone else sees the current setup read-only. A track that's assigned to any location can't be deleted until you remove it from each one, and the library shows how many locations are using each track, so nothing goes quiet by accident.
Getting started
- Open a screen and go to its Home tab.
- Upload a track in the Background music card.
- Pick it for a location, then set the volume and speed and press Preview.
- Repeat for any other location, or use Quick assign to apply the track to all of them.
