This Privacy Policy explains what data DisplayNyxcollects, why, and how it's handled across displaynyx.com, the DisplayNyxdashboard, the DisplayNyx Player desktop app, and the DisplayNyx Player mobile app (together, the “Service”). DisplayNyxis business software: the data described below is mostly about the businesses and staff who use the Service to manage screens, not about the people who happen to walk past a screen. The physical player apps only display content - they don't use cameras or otherwise collect information about viewers.
When you register a workspace or are invited to one, we collect your name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), workspace/business name, and role. If you enable multi-factor authentication, we store the data needed to verify it (e.g., a TOTP secret or one-time email codes).
We store the screens you register (name, store/location, layout configuration), the media, text, templates, playlists, and announcements you upload or create, and any voice samples you submit for voice cloning. Screen devices periodically send a heartbeat (online/offline status) so the dashboard can show which screens are connected.
Subscription payments are handled directly by Stripe. We don't store your full card number - Stripe shares back only what we need to display and manage your subscription (e.g., card brand and last four digits, billing history).
We log sign-in attempts and administrative actions (creating, editing, or deleting screens, content, users, etc.) in a per-workspace audit trail, along with the timestamp and, where applicable, IP address - this is used for account security, troubleshooting, and so workspace admins can see who changed what. Support ticket contents are stored to help us respond to you.
displaynyx.comuses Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects standard web analytics (pages visited, referring site, approximate location, device/browser type) to help us understand how the marketing site is used. This is separate from the dashboard and player apps, which don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use the content you upload to train any AI model.
When you use AI image generation, voice cloning, or text-to-speech, the relevant prompt, text, or voice sample is sent to the third-party provider you've configured (OpenAI, Stability AI, or Google Gemini for image generation; ElevenLabs for voice cloning and speech synthesis) - either using your own API key or, for eligible accounts, a limited DisplayNyx-provided key. If you save your own provider API key in Settings, it's encrypted at rest and only decrypted at request time to make the call on your behalf. Data sent to these providers is handled under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Live voice broadcasts are streamed directly to the target screens and are not recorded or stored by us. A scheduled announcement using a cloned voice does generate a synthesized audio clip, which is stored so it can be played back at the scheduled time and on any repeats you configure.
We share data only with the service providers that help us run DisplayNyx, and only as needed for the purpose described:
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of DisplayNyx, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you where required).
Each workspace's business data is kept in its own isolated database, rather than mixed together with other tenants' data in shared tables. Passwords are hashed, sensitive saved credentials (like your own AI provider keys) are encrypted at rest, and access to the dashboard and player APIs requires authentication. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we work to protect your data, we can't guarantee absolute security.
We retain your account and content data for as long as your workspace is active, and for a limited period after cancellation or termination in case you want to reactivate or export it, after which it's deleted - except where we need to keep certain records longer to meet legal, tax, or billing obligations. Audit log entries are kept for a limited period for security purposes.
You can review and update most account information directly from the dashboard. Workspace admins can manage and remove their own team members' access at any time. You can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting hello@displaynyx.com. Depending on where you're located, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we'll do our best to honor requests consistent with those rights where they apply.
The Service is intended for business use and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Our infrastructure is currently hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed there, and possibly in other countries where our service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll notify you by email or through the dashboard before it takes effect.
